This reduction from the 25-inch Ordnance survey map of 1924 shows the stone quarries and also the tramway as far as the neck of the Breakwater. Note the quay on the south-east side of the Breakwater. The twin-road engine shed and workshops at Soldier's Point can be seen; the alignment of the old (lifted) 7ft gauge tramway to the Old Harbour can be easily identified curving away to the south near the engine shed. Clearly, the lifting of this section of tramway had been undertaken before the time of this survey; it is possible that lifting might have been undertaken in 1911 (when the 7ft gauge quarry tramway was replaced by 4ft 8½in rails).
