NARROW GAUGE

It is our proposal to establish a 15" narrow gauge railway incorporating a scenic loop around the quarry faces at the Country Park, with a single line back along the top of the old railway cutting to the old engine sheds. The old sheds could themselves be converted into both a passenger station and storage facility.

The line would provide scenic views of the old quarry workings, and of Rocky Coast.

Rocky Coast is an area of scenic coastline enjoyed by many, and consequently the project will be implemented sensitively with minimal environmental impact.

An outline of our current narrow gauge proposals falls into 3 phases:

Phase 1
A narrow gauge loop or dog bone track in the Breakwater Park.
